Riyadh Season launched its World Cup Fan Festival Zone in the Saudi capital as the 2022 World Cup got underway in Qatar on Sunday. It will stream all the games and provide football fans the option to watch the World Cup on the big screen while taking in the fantastic atmosphere in Riyadh. It is modeled after the fan zones in Qatar and put up in the Mrsool Park stadium. The Fan Festival zone has spaces for shopping and entertainment where guests can dine at a variety of cafes and restaurants, play video games, and shop. Live music will also be played before and between games. On Sunday, a large crowd gathered in the area to see the inaugural match between Ecuador and the hosts Qatar. In addition, there will be a Diego Maradona exhibition in the Fan Festival area, featuring highlights from his legendary career. The English football team Newcastle United, which the Saudi Public Investment Fund recently acquired, is the subject of another exhibition. There will be a presentation about the team and its background, and supporters can purchase shirts from the official shop. The three available tickets are bronze (which allows spectators to watch from the stands), silver (which allows spectators to see from the field), and gold (allows visitors to watch from special seats at the front row).
