Need a construction/project-based purchasing program to control our purchasing procedure. Requirements: Need to be able to enter a list of components (parts) by description, and produce a printable sheet with our part numbers, the supplier(/s) part numbers, cost price, supplier and quantity. Need to be able to check off items that are in stock, and amend the list accordingly. Then send the list off to the relevant suppliers for the balance of goods. With an order number. Given that each project will have goods coming from 2-6 different suppliers. Need an editable field for project name/number, due date. Need an area to enter Carrier and Consignment Note/Tracking number for goods from each supplier. Need to show a project cost. Need to be able to upload data (product description, part numbers, cost price, supplier and alternate supplier etc) by csv. Optional; automatically update ETA status for 5 major freight companies in Australia (Toll, Australia Post, TNT, Couriers Please, Startrack) same as eBay does Optional; allow insert of images for each product when selecting products to order Can be web-based (preferred) so we can use it on site as well as in the office. Or a PC program (exe).

Hello, To best meet your goals in the software you hope to have I would take the following steps with you and the users of the program. 1. Fully understand the requirements and produce mock ups. This would involve communication and discussion about the needs of the business, goals and working with users. Depending on complexity this may be a long or short. 2. Create first pass mock-ups. An interactive, bare bones, demo application so that both parties can refine the details. This would take the least time. 3. Development of full application. Using information and feedback from steps 1 and 2 I would build the final application. During key milestones I would check in about progress and usability. This would also include testing. This would take the majority of the time. 4. Tweaking, bug fixing and documentation. Working with users I would do final testing and create manuals. This would also include deployment of the final product. Besides that initial I will be willing to provide limited free support on the application. The program would be written in the popular C# language and full source code would be provided at end of contract to provide flexibility for the customer to work with other developers.
