Film Screen Play

I am an experienced screenwriter who has pretty much become the "Go-To Screenplay Guy" on this site. Thus far, I have won the last screenwriting/script contests here (I joined 2013) and have successfully bid and been awarded the other screenwriting projects some of which are on-going while others I have completed. Please review my profile to confirm my claims. If you PM (private message me -- in compliance with Freelancer Rules) I can then upload excerpts of my ghostwritten screenplays which did not involve NDAs and will also upload samples of my own personal screenplays. One of the screenplays is in film production as we speak based on my 1st draft contest win about someone's life. You can do a Google search of "My Name Is Nobody" by Phillip Penza to confirm that claim (screenplay adapted from his true-life novel/account). SCREENWRITING CHOPS: 1) I understand and I'm well versed in writing excellent loglines. 2) I know how to format a screenplay correctly and most importantly understand and follow the 3 Act Principle. 3) "Plot is character and character is plot." In other words I'm well aware of the importance of 3D characters and the evolution/character arc of the protagonist and other important characters. 4) My keyword in screenwriting is "Conflict" because without it a script is nothing but a bunch of scenes that will ensure the rejection of your script. 5) I'm well versed in the art of effective dialogue. 6) I use industry standard software, Final Draft 8.

To be honest, Home Alone was pretty much my favourite film as a kid, so I'd love to have a look at what you've written so far. In terms of experience, I've got a BA in Screenwriting and Producing from the London School of Film, Media, and Performance, where I was personally tutored by a BAFTA award-winning producer (who shared some amazing tips on story development, character arcs, and writing quotable dialogue). Then I worked as a script reader for a NYC-based production house for a while. So all in all I've read, reviewed, reworked, and packaged more screenplays than I can count, and having worked alongside the studio heads, I have a good sense for what kind of stuff never gets green lit (or even read past page 10). I know what changes a writer needs to make to turn an unwanted story into one that secures funding. If you decide you want to discuss this further, when it comes to feedback I can't promise to tell you what you want to hear. But I will be honest about your work and do my best to leave you with work you'll be proud of.

Hi! I've been employed for the past three years as a copywriter in a major television network. I handled entertainment TV shows, so I have been exposed to different kinds of storytelling. I also have a degree in Film and, apart from my other experiences in film theory and film production, I took two classes specifically on screenwriting. I read fast and with not a lot else to do with all more than enough time to deliver your project back to you with high quality feedback that you can use. You can't afford me. When I was 25 I was under contract a Paramount Pictures. Very quickly, you should read these three books, in this order: "Screenplay" by Syd Field "Screenwriter's Workbook" by Syd Field "The Writer's Journery" by Christopher Vogler. Syd Field will teach you about story structure. He's superb. Those two books are easy reads. You'll get a full understanding of how to put a story together. Basically, the mid-point scene at page 60 links the beginning of the story to the end. The first act break, at page 30, links the beginning to the mid-point scene. The second act break at page 90 links the mid-point scene to the end. Then you just keep cutting the story in half. There's nothing to it. If you know how to write. If you read the Vogler book first you might get lost in all the mythical double-talk. Let Syd Field prepare you. Dialogue is a bit trickier. Either you have an ear for it, or you don't. Write it the way you would speak to your friends. There's no "grammar" in movie dialogue. Just write it how you hear it in your head. And let the characters "talk" to you.
