The offer is primarily aimed at national SMEs in the mechanical and plant engineering sector who already have an idea of their own on certain topics in Industry 4.0 or who have no expertise of their own in this area. The classic mechanical engineering company works with engineering skills from the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering. They have a long-standing customer base and build high-quality and very reliable plants. The companies are usually very well positioned in these areas. Most have very good expertise in the areas of PLC programming. However, in the IT area (cloud, high level language development, configurations etc.) there is little or no knowledge. In the future this will become more and more a requirement by the client as new machines are generally networked and digital products are expected. Classical machine builders generate the main turnover by selling the machine. Since the margins here are manageable, however, further sales are generated by spare parts and maintenance contracts. The generation of sales in the spare parts business is hampered by low-cost producers and from abroad, and maintenance contracts are difficult to scale. Many mechanical engineering companies have little knowledge about the operation of the machines (data analysis) in order to optimize customer loyalty and improve the satisfaction of the end customer. Direct interaction with the plant operator is missing. In order not to lose this marketability, use cases have to be generated which allow the machine builder a fast ROI. The resulting costs must be calculable and it must be possible to pass them on to the end customer. The machine builder must be confronted with practical use cases with direct added value for his own internal processes.
