I'm a geologist and part of my main qualification to be an effective one is to be GIS-proficient. I have conducted several terrain analysis using DEM's and publicly available data, all of which are subjected to spatial analysis. From then, derivatives of different types should be created accordingly including Land-Use. We can even correlate further the land cover results into more meaningful derivatives such as erosion and hydrology if you prefer (we can discuss further by then). A comprehensive table in terms of areas encompassed for each cover should be available as well. Just placed project delivery for 2 days as I am not sure yet of the actual scope.
