Automation of Excel tasks

This project involves the automation of a set of simple tasks in Excel, as follows. The input will be an Excel document which contains a number of columns of data (where each column has a heading to describe its contents). The task is to create an Excel macro which achieves the following, for any such input file: 1. For each column, take a random sub-sample of length n (with replacement), where n is an input from the user. The user can decide whether the sample is of consecutive numbers or not. For example: - if the user selects “consecutive samples” and n=5, then the macro will select at random a set of 5 consecutive numbers from each column. The sub-samples selected should not necessarily correspond to one another from column to column. - if the user does not select the option “consecutive samples”, and n=10, then the macro will select 10 numbers at random from each column. n could be any natural number, up to the total number of datapoints in each column. The “consecutive samples” option is either on or off. 2. For each of the samples chosen in step 1, the macro will calculate the average, the standard deviation, the skew and the kurtosis (all Excel functions) and report them in an output sheet. 3. Steps 1 and 2 are then repeated x number of times, where x is an input from the user. The output is therefore four columns of numbers (each column is of length x) for each column of data in the input Excel document, one for the reported averages, one for the standard deviations, one for the skew and one for the kurtosis. The output sheet should be labelled automatically to show clearly which columns of output data correspond to which columns of input data, so that a change in the input sheet should be reflected in the output sheet.
