Run regression of the dataset, and present your results in a report

Given a scenario and a dataset (see attached excel file), you are required to run regression of the dataset, and present your results in a report. In your report, you should include an introduction which describes the case, the study purpose and the demand function as an equation which you would like to estimate and regression results in table. Following the introduction, you need to include the four steps to interpret the regression results:  Step 1: interpret coefficient signs and magnitudes Hints:  negative coefficient shows that as the independent variable (Xn) changes, the variable (Y) changes in the opposite direction  positive coefficient shows that as the independent variable (Xn) changes, the dependent variable (Y) changes in the same direction  The magnitude indicates one unit changes in Xn cause the amount of changes in Y.  The regression coefficients are used to compute the elasticity for each variable  Step 2: compute elasticity coefficient and interpret the elasticities Hints:  Price elasticity of demand: inelastic or elastic?  Cross elasticity: complement or substitution good?  Income elasticity: inferior, normal or superior good?  Step 3: Statistical evaluation of regression results Hints: Statistical evaluation of regression results:  t-test: use “ rule of 2” to determine test of statistical significance of each estimated coefficient.  R2 (coefficient of determination): percentage of variation in the variable (Y) accounted for by variation in all explanatory variables (Xn) R2 value ranges from 0.0 to 1.0 The closer to 1.0, the greater the explanatory power of the regression.  F-test: measures statistical significance of the entire regression as a whole (not each coefficient): F-test is not required by this project.  Step 4: Analyze managerial decisions Hints:  price elasticity of demand: increase price or decrease price to increase revenue?  Cross elasticity: should you be concerned with your competitor’s pricing decision?  Income elasticity: how economic recession or boom which influences people’s income will affect your sales?  What are significant factors affecting the demand? Format Requirements Your report should contain proper documentation of the article(s) or other references. Please use Times New Roman 12 point font, double spacing and 1 inch margins. Report length is not required as long as it is complete and includes all necessary steps and analysis.
