Website Design Guidelines The chosen developer of this site is to create, design and complete: * An easy to read wholesale auction-like website (not an auction website!) Definitions: Buyer-Main-Page: a page that will be created to be the main page for the buyer with his/her information. Seller-Main-Page: a page that will be created to be the main page for the seller with his/her information. Introduction: The website is to be able to register two types of customers; buyer and seller. The seller is to post an wholesale products in an item page at a fixed price and buyer is to buy the item. The buyer and seller should have a Main-Page where he/she can see the items bought/sold, paid/not-paid, etc. This is not an auction site, but similar. The seller has to be a company and the buyer can be any visitor. This is just an introduction to understand what kind of website to create. I have posted some sample pictures from other websites online, to help you get a better understand. Any suggestions to changing anything indicated below are welcome (Changes might be done due to website-look, cost reduction, etc). Homepage: The website format should should be similar to ebay express ([login to view URL]). On the main-page, as shown in the ebay express, there should be the following: * Categories should be listed on the top part of the page but under the logo * Detailed categories should be listed below * Subcategories should list the number of items * Login form should be listed on the main page * It should have a creative look with a nice format Buyer: Buyer should be able to register by clicking on a “register” link. If the visitor is not registered he/she should be forwarded to a “you need to register” page every time he/she clicks on a “buy” bottom. The register page should ask the following: * Username * Password * First and last name * Address * Phone number * Email Address After that he should be forwarded to the Buyer-Main-Page. The Buyer-Main-Page have all of the following options: * View bought items * See shipping details * Change personal information * And other common pages Seller: Seller is to be able fill a form by clicking on a “Company Seller” link. The form is not to register the company, but to send me an approval request. The approval request should ask for the following: * Contact Name * Company name * Address * Phone number * Fax * Email Address * Website * What you sell? After I review the company and agree to add them to the site, I should be able to send some type of passcode to them and a link. The linked page will ask for username and a passcode. If the company is approved, I will send them a passcode and the username (the seller should be asked for a username in the approval request as indicated above). The linked page (after approval) should ask for: Username passcode The next page is to ask for a password (twice): * Enter a password: * Renter your password: After that he should be forwarded to the Seller-Main-Page. The Seller-Main-Page should have all of the following options: * View sold items * Add shipping details (tracking #, etc.) to sold items * Post items (sell items) * Change company information (changes should be sent to me for approval) * And other common pages Posting an item: The seller should be able to post an item. The form to post an item can look like an auction form. The seller should: Select from a list of categories where the item should be listed * Name of the item * Item price – each * Shipping price of each (should increase based on quantity) Minimum quantity Description And other common questions (if any) Buying an Item: Any visitor should be able to view the items. If a visitor is not registered he/she should be forwarded to a “you need to register” or “log-in” page every time he/she clicks on a “buy” bottom. After registering or if the buyer is logged-in, he should be asked for the following: * Quantity * Payment information (credit card, paypal, etc..) * and other transaction questions The amount total (for products & shipping) should recalculate depending on the quantity (plus a %5 transaction fee). Emails: Like most sites, the buyer/seller should receive: * a welcome-email for singing up * an email notifying an item sold/bought * an email question from an item page * and other common emails Feedback: After a transaction, and like most auction sites, the buyer and the sell get to leave a feedback. The feedback score should not show in the item page. There should be a page for the buyer/seller where there will be all their information (feedback percentage, comments their location information, etc.). Scores should not show next screen names, but rather after clicking on the screen names. Administrative: The administrator should be able to: · Approve a seller · Band a buyer/seller · Access a list of all the buyers or sellers and view their information · Make changes to a buyer/seller account · See all items sold by date and add the following to each item: o Select “yes” or “no” to “money received?” o Select “yes” or “no” to “money sent to company?” o Type in the money transfer number · Send emails to all buyer/sellers and other common administrator options. Conclusion: This is basically the website I expect. It's like most common site and it should not be a difficult task. I should be able ask to make a small change during design and in small period after design. This Website Design Guidelines will be sent to a number of web developers. Grading and winner of this assignment will be based on the price and the background of the web developer.
