Womanhood in the TV series Orphan Black

To do this project, you need to be capable of doing literary analysis, character analysis and so on.. . First of all, I ask you please to watch the series! It is very important to mention all the many female protagonists and talk about each at least a bit under a related heading: Sarah Manning, Elizabeth Childs (Beth), Katja Obinger, Alison Hendrix, Cosima Niehaus, Helena, Rachel Duncan, Jennifer Fitzsimmons, Tony Sawicki, Krystal Goderitch, Veera Suminen AKA Mika (M.K), Who are all cl0nes +the child cl0ne Charlotte Bowles + Kira (Sarah’s daughter, who is not a cl0ne but plays an important role in the series. You’ll find out while watching). There are also other important women in Orphan Black..such as Mrs. S, Delphine (Cosima’s girlfriend) , Susan Duncan (one of the original scientists who created the female cl0nes) and Kendall Malone (The female cl0nes are born of her DNA while the male cl0nes are made from her brother's DNA. <= While in the womb, Kendall had a twin brother whom she absorbed.) What we need is not a simple introduction of each..We want to make references to their features, words and deeds to make clear connections between the TV series and whatever we are talking about in the 60 pages of this project. This is something I would like to happen regularly all through the work. Here are some stuff that I would like to be mentioned in the work: *Frankenstein as an early example of cl0ning tale ( + mentioning any other examples including cl0nes published over the years . You should just talk about it briefly to show how it has been an interesting subject in history and should not devote a big part of the work to it) * Are cl0nes humans? * a comparison between the cl0ne characters and the other characters in Orphan Black (Here you should also make references to the male characters in Orphan Black as well, as we don’t want to ignore the fact that they are also a part of this tale. However, Females always come first all through this project because of the title. So a comparison between the cl0ne and non-cl0ne female characters mentioned above would be necessary!) I cannot tell you more than this, as I am not the one writing it. But you will surely come up with interesting ideas while searching and writing it. So please do add more to it. => I definitely expect to have more than 3 headings under the cl0ning category and I think sub-headings will most probably be needed as well. <= “Womanhood” is the part of the project I tend to get more focused on. So I think it would be logical to devote over half and less than two-thirds of the work to this subject. *What defines Womanhood? *Why did they make the female cl0nes in the TV Series infertile? *Female Empowerment (Michel Foucault) * What is power and what kind of power do these women in Orphan Black have? Which aspects of female empowerment do we see in it? *How do these women use their womanhood to empower themselves? And whatever more you come up with that can be added.. . Here we also need other topics. We don’t want to only stick with power and empowerment.
