I have a good experience in CNC machines since I have worked on several related projects (check my profile please - I have a sample). I worked in a specialized CNC team. Our mission was to convert traditional non-CNC machines into fully CNC ones. I was working on the user interface application, a Windows desktop application (written in C#). This application was responsible for reading g-code, analyzing it, and sending the resulting points to the machine. I don't know the type of project you need to build.
