I need 6 professional, good looking templates. Each template has to be in 4 colors. The following is a description of how a template can be created.
In the examples, the [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] are just an example of the designed layout, if you create your "template" in an html editor you can save that as an html file [login to view URL] or [login to view URL] so we can have a preview of what the template will look like.
The [login to view URL] is the complete file, this is the template file that has all the variables and inludes. In that file you will not notice any menu hyperlinks but 2 variables (%%topmenu%% and %%sidemenu%%) that will be replaced by our system.
For each link title we create in the topmenu, we use the topmenu_title.tpl. Same for each link in the sidemenu: we use sidemenu_title.tpl. The script decides how many link titles have to be created, based on what pages the users activated. You don't have to worry about that. The desinger should always use %%topmenu%% in a horizontal way somewhere on the page and %%sidemenu%% either on the left or the right of the page.
Note: please test your design with a sidemenu linktitle of at least 20 characters to see if the layout doesn't break. The general layout (tables) should be able to stretch in an acceptable look! This is a must as some inexperienced users might mess up their site by inserting images that are way too wide and so on.
The following variables have to be used:
========================================
%%bodytag%%:
- this variable is used in the body tag <body ..... %%bodytag%%> on the page in [login to view URL] and will be
replaced with nothing or with javascript by our system.
%%metadescription%%:
- this variable is used on the page in [login to view URL] and will be replaced by custom metatags
%%metakeywords%%:
- this variable is used on the page in [login to view URL] and will be replaced by custom metatags
%%topmenu%% :
- this menu is always horizontal and will be replaced by the generated list of topmenu_title items
- this variable is used on the page in [login to view URL]
[login to view URL] :
- separate template file
- every topmenu link item will use this template
%%sidemenu%% :
- this menu is always vertical and will be replaced by the generated list of sidemenu_title items
- this variable is used on the page in [login to view URL]
[login to view URL] :
- separate template file
- every sidemenu link item will use this template
%%pagetitle%% :
- variable used in the <title> tag and on the page in [login to view URL]
%%paragraph%% :
- this variable is used on the page in [login to view URL]
%%include%% :
- this variable is used on the page in [login to view URL] and should always be under the $paragraph and
preferably in a separate cell or table
%%powered%%:
- this variable is used on the page in [login to view URL] and will be replaced by the system with something like "Powered by <a href="[login to view URL]" target="_blank">Example</a>"
%%sponsortitle%%:
- this variable is used on the page in [login to view URL] and will be replaced with something like "Sponsored by <a href="$spurl" target="_blank">$sptitle</a>"
%%sponsorbutton%%:
- this variable is used on the page in [login to view URL] and will be replaced by one or more buttons (small banners etc...)
Directory structure:
====================
Each template should have a unique id number: e.g. 1001
1001/
1001/[login to view URL] (with all the variables of course)
1001/[login to view URL]
1001/[login to view URL]
1001/[login to view URL]
1001/images/[login to view URL]
1001/images/* (images used in the template)
All paths to files of the template should be as follows:
$templateurl/$template/images
So make sure that you replace folder "images" by "$templateurl/$template/images" in the *.tpl files.
