Google Adsense Optimization

I have google adsense placed thruout my website but do not have it well optimized at all. I do not know how to optimize it nor do I understand the instructions how to do it. I do not know how to set up channels, increase pay per click, etc, etc. Any and all ways to optimize is requested for help. Only 7 pages and six or seven posts with no more than one add placed within each. I make only pennies a day with adsense but I think I could do much better if I knew more what I was doing. It is a pet related website in general though specifically targeting dachshund dogs. Don't want to give url here cause I don't want this to get sucked into search engines. Google adsense very touchy on my site. If you go into a page or post thru the admin panel the code automatically gets knocked out of alignment. I know how to realign it but this constant phenomenon is a hassle. Just asking for help with adsense optimation though and nothing else. I will fix things that get knocked out of alignment.
