As a UX Architect I am passionate about creating experiences that enhance the lives of people, and enable them to complete tasks in the simplest way possible. For something such as healthcare, which is vital to all population segments, it is important to balance the more complex requirements of "power users", with a simple interface that can be used easily by people with low levels of technological literacy.
My experience leading the payments design/UX stream in the Westpac NZ Online Banking resdesign is particularly relevant to this piece of work, as the crux of what I was responsible for was simplifying complex processes into a one step process.
Additionally, I am based in Wellington, New Zealand so keeping in frequent communication will be easy (with the minimal time difference), and also I have a clear understanding of Australian culture, which will be translated into the look and feel.
My process:
Initial consultation to define requirements for the solution (User requirements - providers and customer) (Technical requirements - desktop and mobile?) (Other requirements - sign up, listing, search) (Look and feel)
Create personas to ensure that the design will work for all user segments
Create user workflows to ensure that all use cases are accounted for (these will be informed by the existing zocdoc site)
Develop wireframes. Send them for review. One round of rework if required
Complete hifi designs. Send for review. One round of rework if required.
