Hi there, I'm an expert 3D modeler for architectural renderings. I work in 3Dsmax every single day of my life for my renderings with vray, but for the modeling I use sketchup, so I know that works pretty well. I can offer you a sketchup model of your building saved as version 6, that you later import to max fairly simple and all objects will behave exactly the same as instances, copies, etc. I'm telling you I do this every day, I just like sketchup better because of faster modeling.
