I have a few questions to see if it will be possible to connect remote SQL database from local PC. 1. Is your SQL database in the same network with your local PC? (same intranet) 2. If not and you are accessing it from a different network, is VPN to the network where SQL server resides available? 3. Which database is it? (MS SQL server, Oracle, MySQL, etc? If it is MS SQL Server, I can help you out. 4. If it is MS SQL Server, are you trying it access it through SSMS? 5. Do you have a permission to change firewall setting on the server if it is necessary? These are the questions that will help us figure out how remote access to SQL database can be done.
