I own/run a small competition and giveaway listing website and I have a small issue that's been annoying me for years and I can't fix myself because I only have basic PHP & Mysql knowledge.
Basically, the posts/listings are either classed as Online (and displayed on the website) or Expired (and removed from the website) on the Mysql database and their status becomes either Hidden or Deleted. The Online listings are displayed on the [login to view URL] page via a PHP include but visitors using a link to an Expired listing are (unprofessionally) shown a blank white space in the PHP include section on index.php.
For example: a current 'Online' listing can be seen at [login to view URL] and an 'Expired' listing that only shows the blank PHP include section can be seen at [login to view URL]
So, I would like to have a 3rd item like 'Pending_Delete' on the website & database where expired listings either remained displayed on the website with a large/bold 'Expired' text across the top of the original listing OR simply have the text 'Sorry, This Has Expired' on the blank PHP include section. I would then manually remove the expired listings from the database at a later date as I already do now.
Note: I'm using a modified PHP &MySql classified ads script (and the script seller won't help me) with an admin section. The admin section only lets me delete or delete with option to renew for the Expired listings so that's useless to me.
