We have a portal made on PHP Codeigniter with MySQL using SSL Certificate. We have dedicated server and all the paramters set to maximum extent on server for the site. Still when users are crossing 100 site is going slow or down and showing error as too many connections Needed expert to work on this to find root cause and resolve the issue to make it smooth to handle traffic & users without effecting server configuration in coding side and connection analysis, testing etc Please quote only if you are expert in this domain

You need to cache more content, and avoid opening useless connections to your database. This is pretty easy to accomplish, as you are using CodeIgniter. Spending a lot of time tweaking nginx & php-fpm is pretty much waste of your time. Hopefully your project is not one large monolith.
