As a network and linux engineer i can say that i am the guy you need for this job! I already did this kind of jobs. I am a linux professiona works with Debian/Ubuntu and Redhat/CENTOS As i Am working in ISP and configuring all needed stuff for the ISP mail server is one of things i do! i recommend opensource mail server like zimbra, because it is easy to use and full of needed options, with a good design and fast.

Hello, I'm a system engineer mostly focusing on mail servers. Postfix and CentOS ar eexactly my "playground". In the case of CentOS I usually upgrade Postfix to version 3.0 from source, because of the Postscreen feature, and some issues that the "stock" version of Postfix has while using the OpenDKIM milter signing mails that are sent from applications that run phpmail library. Excepr that, I utilise Dovecot with Sieve filters. You didn't mention how many domains would it be serving. If there's more than one, I'd implement virtual domain management and an administration GUI, namely Postfixadmin, and sieve filters upon need. If you will use it as a corporate mail server, the only antispam engine I suggest is RBL checking, because Postsreen practically filters out 95% of spam in start with very low resource utilisation. Separate antivirus checking can be implemented but utilising clamsmtpd (build from source), without deploying the complete Amavis-new suite or something similar that is heavi on resources and mostly deprecated. Mentioning bounce and complaint email processing, what do you have in mind? This is not done by the mail server but the backend application. Please clarify this part. Also, if you plan to use this server for mass mailing (also please clarify, otherwise I might misslead you), I can tweak up the Postfix transport settings for "polite" delivery towards certain email providers (I have several mass mailing projects running), etc. Regards, Istvan
