I'm partly through the design for a web site that will become home to an open source project. This is my first real attempt at a pure table-less design.
It looks good, but boxy and rather unprofessional. I'd like to hire someone to help me complete it.
Here's what's done :
Logo and base CSS, layout , etc. I've made some really nice (and search engine friendly) tabs that I'd like to keep in place. Some icons are also done, which I paid rather handsomely for .. so I'd like to use them.
Here's what I need :
Someone to php-ize the tabs so I can edit one file with php arrays in it to change the link structure site wide.
Forms designed.
CSS needs to be rounded, design elements need to be improved, background images should be used (Sparcely), more consistent margins and padding.
The end result will just be a few pages, which I can use as a base to make many more pages. I'll also be using the design to help make the control panel for the actual project itself.
Here's my odd requirements :
1 - No javascript whatsoever. Site's visitors will be likely to have JS completely disabled, and even use text based browsers.
2 - Proper use of h1 - h6 tags, as well as links within those tags both for SEO and document structure.
3 - Avoid images at all costs, when possible .. use a solid color rather than a gradient background. We will add some "spice" to it later, right now I just want something with a nice open source feel to it.
4 - Site must expand nicely to fit any resolution. Margins are fine but static width should be avoided.
5 - Tables will not be used for layout, only to hold information.
6 - Neat indenting, no blank lines, K&R style. Someone should be able to use a simple linux text editor at 80x25 resolution and have an easy time editing it.
7 - No dreamweaver (or other special markup) should be left.
8 - Must pass w3c xhtml 1.0 strict, css should have no more than a few warnings.
I think its about 8 - 10 hours worth of work depending on your skill. I would love to finish it myself, but I also want the best site possible for my project.
I will handle all of the content authoring, I just need a nice skeleton to work with so I can put some meat on the bones.
I'd like someone who can be enthused about contributing something really neat, that will be helpful to *alot* of people.
I realize this is a commercial web site, and you must make a profit .. however please realize that I will not be making a penny from the site, and have limited resources to throw at it.
Please only bid if you are willing to do the work within the budget .. if not .. there's no need to PMB me to complain about the budget :) It is what it is.
Happy bidding
