Direct Thermal Printing in ZPL/EPL

Window Book, Inc. is a software company that wants to add fast direct thermal printing technology to our software product called Postal Package Partner (PPP). PPP currently prints to the Window printer driver when we print bar-coded labels. This process is much slower then sending the commands directly to the thermal printers in the thermal printers native control language. We need someone to design and code a system to allow our software to directly print on thermal printers. Customizing an existing licensable component is an option if that is the most economical and maintainable way to complete the job. We need to distribute this to thousands of users so we need an unlimited distribution rights to all components and code. We will start with Zebra's ZPL and Eltron's EPL direct thermal language. We want to expand this to other direct thermal printer languages in the future. PPP is written in Clarion 5.5 and we would prefer that this direct thermal printing engine is written in clarion 5.5 but it is not a requirement. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Must work in Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, and XP
