If you look at the web at [login to view URL], there they provide historical information about matches in different sports (baseball, hockey, football and basketball) for different leagues (MLB, NHL, NFL, NCAAF, NBA, NCAAB and WNBA). I am looking for a tool that will extract data for specific competition that for all the teams extracts the matches for given time period (specified by from and to dates) and stores the data in a csv file (alternatively loads the data in a simple MS Access database). Same record structure for all sports, only that for different sports different fields will be used. I have the full algorithm (=the manual way how to get to the specific data) and can help identifying the right links to follow based on the input parameters. Each match details are stored in individual pages, the actual link to the match will also be part of the output. Input parameters should be competitition, date_from, date_to, e.g. competition = NBA, date_from = 20060101, date_to = 20060630. The application should firstly go to "[login to view URL]" and there for each team it should go to the details from year 2006, i.e. for Boston go to "[login to view URL]" the link above is in fact not needed and the application can go directly to the past results for season 2005/2006: "[login to view URL]" and the output line for the first match will be something like: 20060419,NBA,Boston,Miami,Regular Season,85,78,-6.5,-110(this value is not on the page but default),189,-110(this value is also default),24,17,22,29,22,21,17,11 where the last eight values are point for individual quarters received from the game boxscore. Hope this detailed description gives enough info to get the oveall idea of the work required. Thanks.
