**Simple Front End
SEE ATTACHMENT FOR COMPLETE SPEC**
I have an Excel spreadsheet that I use as a database. The spreadsheet has a custom macro front end for data entry. It allows me to hire writers to enter data without them needing to understand spreadsheets or our data structure. The populated spreadsheet itself is then imported into an SQL database. The front end also allows me or another editor to review the data in the sheet in a much more user friendly interface.
This Excel front end has proven to be unreliable and difficult to maintain.
Therefore I would like to replace this macro with a custom VB or VC++ front end that runs as a separate application.
I want the new interface program to read the data from the sheet, populate the various controls, allow the user to enter and modify data, and then be able to generate a new Excel sheet. The important thing we are doing here is separating the data entry program from the data and creating the front end in a more reliable and robust language that is easier to maintain.

I added more clarification about the project to the Word document, things that might not be obvious unless you checked the worksheets in the wookbook.
