Objective:
1. [login to view URL] page sends client-side query with file name to [login to view URL]
2. [login to view URL] opens the specified server disk file, reads the HTML contents, & sends the string back to [login to view URL] in the quickest way possible, considering step 3 (HTML msgs, could be 100k+)
3. [login to view URL] ends up with an string variable containing the HTML string (parenthentically, this will be loaded into a pinEdit HTML editor from [login to view URL], but this RAC project is complete when [login to view URL] can access the HTML string as a memory variable).
Resources:
1. I have licences for & am willing to incorporate 3rd party HTTP components and FTP components from [login to view URL] that will simplify using these approaches, if either HTTP or FTP is indicated. The capability of the components can be reviewed at [login to view URL], and additionally, if desired, 30 day trial versions can be downloaded for use in developing the project.
2. The PinEdit HTML editor can be reviewed at [[login to view URL]][1]. The editor does the above but its procedures are tightly integrated with their load dialog, which I don't plan to use, and it has the added complexity of not being a straightforward ASP.net implementation (so there's something there for everybody, except the simplicity I need! <g>.
