Hi, We could solve it by using either PWM or external DAC. 1. PWM: we make pulse width modulation (pulse waveform) so it's not a pure 0-5V signal. But the advantage is we don't need any external module/circuit. 2. External DAC there are lot of external DAC modules variant over there. it would generate pure 0-5V signal. I have done IR beam modulation for remote control projects many times, which functions similar to this one. We have a carrier frequency which we need to send step function signals to send data. In basic arduino, it's not possible to make a change to carrier frequency, but with few advanced modifications to internal registers, we can change that too.
