I am looking to import from excel to Access, initiated from inside Access. I need a form built to do this which I could then import and use into our existing Access 2000 application.
The application is a request tracking program. Some of the information for a request is received via email in excel format. The format of the excel file is standard. The same standard excel form is always used. The import code would need to import certain cells and cell ranges into a table within Access. The data always resides in the same cells- the amount of rows would vary.
Other requirements:
(1.)The excel file name will always be different, it will be the name of the project so the user would need to be able to navigate out to a network drive and pick it.
The following refer to the uploaded sample:
(2.) In the excel sheet, the field names for the Access table are in red. The data to be imported is in yellow in the example. Everyting else can be ignored.
(3.) The amount of rows to import can vary, but will always begin at row 13 as in the example. Each project could be different and vary from 1 row to 200 rows.
Lastly, this is only something we will need to use for about 2 months until out website is ready at which time the information will be entered there and imported direct. We need something purely functional, for a short period of time without any bells and whistles.
