Hi, I am an Australian-based developer with significant experience in developing user-friendly Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) in Excel. I also have Masters Degrees in Project Management and Systems Engineering...so I will be able to understand the complexities of your quoting system and develop the necessary formulas. I would recommend heading to my profile page and checking out the GUI I developed for the Preventative Maintenance Program (PMP) for another client. My concept would be to develop an easy-to-use GUI that is sleek and streamlined for data entry and produces a pre-formated quote on a separate Worksheet that you can easily save to PDF and email to your clients. My quote involves all of the design work and formulas to achieve this, as well as the time required to understand your calculations given the various answers to each of the questions. In order to complete the project, I will need a full list of the questions you need answered (unless that example file already includes them) and then the resulting quote for each option selected (or formula based on each answer...e.g. 'if the user selects wooded, multiply the land size in acres by $10,000 to calculate the cost of clearing it'). You'll note that I have itemised the milestones for the project...This is because I find that it provides the client the ability to check the progress at each stage and make any requests for changes. I think if you were to give me all of the required logic that is in your head as to how the home cost is determined based on the selection part of the file (like all of the drop downs and whatnot) I would be able to automate this using functions and formulas. The lower part (row 27 and below) makes sense and I think I'd just need to know how exactly the costs are determined by the drop downs and then we could get started. I envision us going back and forth with many drafts quite frequently until its functioning as you need it to. I'd incorporate your logo and make it look fancy as well in the end.
