Technical Writing - documenting help file for a software -- 2

Hi All, PHASE ONE of project - only do a fraction of the full task - only 5 out of 80 pages - as a proof of concept that you understand the work. Bid only for $10-$15. If you are good, you will be awarded more work for the rest of the project. This is a technical writing/documenation project for a software that my client wrote. The software documentation is done via Dr. Explain software: [login to view URL] which can be d/l for free. (no need to d/l it - we will provide you the working setting for it). The goal is to do screen captures of all screens and menus (about 80 different screens/combinations) and to provide detailed descriptions of each and every field and it's purpose. The process also requires to detail the various options related to that field and /or explain where each field gets its values/populated. Also, needed to detail a process of activities (step 1,.. step 2.. etc). The software does a "Backup" and we need to document the steps to complete the full backup. This means you will RUN the software (on our server) and in effect be a semi-tester of its flow. The Dr. Explain software does a lot of work for you, but you need to resize images, rearrange bubbles and associated text. Also, you need to build a Tree structure of the subjects/categories/menus and organize the screens accordingly. You need to be a native English Speaker/writer with proven technical documentation skills/previous project. Documentation is required for the following: 1. build/enhance the tree structure of the outline/topics/menus etc. 2. do captures and detailed descriptions of all menus/screens/controls 3. do a process walkthrough in steps as a an example for how to run the software We will provide you access to a server where [login to view URL] and the software are installed already, so you can start the project immediately. Once the work is done, we will run the [login to view URL] project file in a registered version server and then it will remove any and all the watermark from the images. A successful bidder should be a native English speaker/writer, with extensive technical writing skills. This is a technical writing documentation, so some technical knowledge is expected - terminology of "FTP" or "OS Type" or "MySQL Encoding" are almost the most technical terms. Points to note: =========== The images you capture through the tool need to be resized to fit the screens of the Dr. Explain. There should not be a Horizontal scroll (no left/right scroll bar). The original captured images are very large, so you need to cut them/resize them to make them fit. Timelines: ======== We expect to have this project completed in a 10-14 days period. For the current phase it should only take 3 days. The full Budget - but keep in mind for now only $10-$15 ============ $150-$180.
