415576 WEb-Based Library Mgmt System

I need a Web-based Library Management system, that can work both in ONLINE (INTERNET) and OFFLINE (INTRANET/Standalone) The system should be able to be added more modules in future so it has to be flexible to expansion. Student Data & Teacher Data The form & details for students are to be followed exactly as in [login to view URL] (username : admin password: admin) This data is taken from SMM. Student data to be able to be integrated/ imported from exernal export file (in text format) (please see attachment [login to view URL]) Means all the files that have the details in that exported file, will be transferred into this programme. USER ID card Student/ teachers ID card printed as following sample : > (see Attachment) User Logon ( teachers/ students ) : > to view their reports. No edit/changes possible. Library Dewey classification (000 – 900) & MF, EF, TF, CF : > this is FICTION (important in NILAM..se below ) - 000 > 010 > 011 > 011.1>011.11 and so on - Can be added/ edited when required (ADMIN) Type Master (type of materials in library ) (ADMIN) - Books - DVD - Syllabus books - Magazines - Etc Each type of material has the option to ALLOW for borrowing or NOT. If ALLOWED, its no. of days allowed to be borrowed for students/ teachers (ADMIN) Type of Maintenance – Lost, damaged, etc. ( can be added/ edited by admin ) List of Items/books – Search/ Add/ Edit books/items Search – by keyword/ title/ isbn/ author/ category/type Can use Barcode Scanner to scan the ISBN of the book to search too. Upon searching got option to EDIT ..or BORROW should a student/ teacher wants to Add Dewey Classifaction – to be selected by librarian/admin Quanty – how many of the same books quantity ISBN number ( option to print ISBN barcode should the item/book doesn't have barcode) - can use Barcode scanner to scan the ISBN value from the ISBN Barcode on the item. Title Description of book Type Author (if not available from pull down menu, must be able to ADD instantly) Publisher (if not available from pull down menu, must be able to ADD instantly) Supplier (if not available from pull down menu, must be able to ADD instantly) Price Image Location Searching Keywords > Every book will be automatically assigned a “Obtain Number” a.k.a. No. Perolehan (in malay) in a running sequence. If item/book with same ISBN number, the system will allocate different Obtain Number for each. E.g. Add book with ISBN 123456, qty = 10 ..so the Obtain number , if starts at 1 ..the next book when you add will start with 11 … Issue Borrower IC/ID -> Scan student/teacher IC/ID (from the ID CARD ) using barcode scanner …or by typing value manually. Upon that, system will show the STUDENT/TEACHER Photo /Name/ and Form/Class (if its student) ISBN No -> Scan ISBN No of the book/item that wants to be borrowed and system will accept it into the profile ( based on the TYPE i.e. how many days can be allowed to be borrowed, etc ) When issue, if a particular ISBN no has more than 1 qty of book, it will show the list of Obtain Number, and librarian/admin will select which book. Return Same as issue, : > Just this time return. ( Borrower IC/ID, ISBN No, Obtain number etc ) Repport: Issue & Return report stating the % of books borrowed based on category/dewey classification Report: Books in stock, damaged, stolen, Books out Computer allocation Select by :> User IC/ID or by FORM/Class (type of barcode scan ) Start timer … upon complete usage, stop timer …system will show how much is the charge payable ( charge setting to be done under ADMIN ) Report: > Total usage of computer by users . Can be sorted by FORM/Class Nilam Total number of books borrowed by students, from TOTAL HIGHEST to TOTAL LOWEST, categorized by FORM Every book that borrowed under the category MF,EF, CF, TF will be taken as PeNDING for APPROVAL for NILAM . Under NILAM ADMIN, admin will search student, (barcode scanning or type manually their STUDENT IC/ID ) to see if that particular student has got PENDING status for that book, and if click on APPROVE, that book will be counted as ‘1' for that student's NILAM. If admin clicks on DENY, it will not be counted as NILAM. Report: > Highest total no of books reader to lowest. Can be sorted by SCHOOL/ FORM :> admin will set an STATUS for the range of books read. i.e. 50-100 = GOLD, 101-300 = Platinum, etc. Attendance Scanning of Student/Teachers IC/ID or typing manually to log on attendance. And log off attendance when leaving library. Report: > In & Out of students/teacher, their duration spend in the library : > report by race/gender/ form/class This system is required to be ONLINE, placed on my server, operated from [login to view URL] (where SMK aBc = school name) Backup/ restore of Data of Books/ etc is required. Dbase search/ lookup/ loading should be extremely fast almost like desktop. Should be able to extend in future for other add-on modules, i.e. exam module, discipline module, etc. Feedback pls : > Would be better if we can do dual synchorising. ONLINE & OFFLINE at same time. Means system will work with or without internet connection. If net connection is lost, system will work in the desktop, and once connection is back, it will synchronise with online. Multi-user entry : > Library Admin, librarians, etc. Admin can choose what options are available for non-admins. ------------------------------------------------------------ I need daily progress on the project, and a weekly online review (demo server ).
