I am researching a UK listed company and have some questions around the accounts. I am looking for some with a accounting experience to answer my questions. The questions I have are for the company ULS technology and are as follows: 1. Grant Thornton audits their accounts, 5th biggest auditor in the UK, and has done so since at least 2015. This company has a string of corrupt auditing cases. Is this significant, or do most auditing companies have fraud cases against them, therefore it is normal? Please feel to expand on this. 2. Goodwill and intangible assets is high. Any comments around this whether it has been accounted for fairly, and the risk of impairment or increased amortisation? Please feel free to expand on this. (You may wish to refer to Annual Report 2017 and 2018 for reference) 3. The Financial Reporting Council Review 2017/18 flagged their accounts as having errors in them. Is this a genuine mistake, a subjective decision (i.e. a grey area), or fraud? Please feel free to expand on this. (You may wish to refer to ULS Final Results issued in June 2018 pages 14-15, and the Financial Reporting Council Review page 12.
