What we need is very very simple; 1- There will be only login and logout screen with our logo. User will login to our website over the app. When he/she logins app will send "user is online" to server. 2- The app should able to run in background. 3- When battery runs out or the user closes the app or user uses the logout button the app will send "user is offline" to server. 4- We should able to send push notifications to the online user over ssh whenever we want. I want an Android app to notify users about the events happening in a college campus along with its venue and time. The app should be able to remind the user (if user wants) about the events which they have marked as "Attending" and the reminder date/time should be according to the preference of the user. It should give an idea of the event happening and a function to call the event organizer directly. It should also give push notifications when new events are added to the database.
