I recently graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy Massachusetts after studying both Journalism and English. I am creative and effective placing the right pieces together to assure innovative, effective, and quality production. I am extremely proficient with all of Adobe Creative Suite's publication and design software. My interest stems from working in the newspaper business for the past four years, starting my own web & graphic design business, and a huge interest my entire life. I am a diligent individual who thrives on working under pressure and deadline. After interning in the sports department of one newspaper and corresponding for another, I was granted the duties of both the Sports and Layout sections of my college's newspaper before being selected as the Creative Director last year. As an intern, editor, and freelance writer and graphic designer, I’ve gained vast writing experience ranging from features, game stories, previews, reviews, scouting reports, human-interest, column writing, and op-eds. After taking several design courses, freelancing as a web designer, and as the Creative Director for a college newspaper, I have been able to revamp the design in both layout and content— increasing readership and respectability of the publication. Also, my senior project, a 45-page magazine covering the 2008 NFL Draft, involved an extreme degree of scouting, writing, designing, and layout. I have always aspired to combine my writing skills with my sound computer prowess and freelancing would truly allow me to express my writing, design, and multimedia talents. If given the opportunity, I am confident that my skills, innovative ideas, immense design knowledge, and experience will make me an ideal candidate for many positions and projects.
