This project is a 'last-minute-accomodation' type website that serves as a medium for accommodation providers (hotels, motels, condo owners, etc.) to advertise reduced prices on their accommodation, and for end users to find cheap accommodation deals at the 'last minute'. Open-Realty/RSS Every X hours it creates an RSS feed from OR listings (search results?) This could be created in a similar method to the OR-PL add-on The feed would include very basic information about each listing; orListing URL, orAgent URL, listing price, listing city, other orListing and orAgent fields. The add-on could use an OR search results template and the OR search results function (or a modified copy of it) to create the content, or another method. XML tags could be hard coded, or in the template. To reduce server workload I think it would be best to make a cron job and a static xml file every X hours, rather than run the whole script every time it is called. It would best be created as an OR add-on (or similar). A single add-on could be created to make the PL message, AND the RSS feed, as there are some similar functions. Or one add-on could be dependant on the other, or they could be independent. There are a few existing RSS feed add-ons and hacks for OR. But none seem to be under much development, and none work for OR 2.1x. The most active and up to date one can be found in the OR forums: [url removed, login to view] It is also on OR's roadmap, but this seems to have stalled, or been delayed. Features it needs * These must be configurable o location and name of xml file o xml file refresh frequency o format and layout of feed content (e.g. orTemplate name) Additional features we'd like it to have. These are not necessary * multiple feeds, each with uniquely configurable o OR search parameters (sort order, class, others) * Joomla/MamboOR compatible. Links need to be parsed by MamboOR (or equivalent)
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
