My company is currently in the process of designing an online web site editor. We want to create a do-it-yourself web site creator for small businesses and individuals with no programming experience.

Currently the site is hosted at http://www.fannansolutions.com. You can take a look at some of my sales pitches and if you PM me, I can create an account for you, since registration for my site is down.

We have already done extensive work on this project. In fact, about 50-70% of this project has already been completed by myself. I am looking for a company to polish up the code, finish implementing the features that I have put forth and make it rise to the professional standard it deserves. First let me outline some of the major requirements and programming languages this projects needs:

- LAMP based system (PHP, MySQL, LINUX & Apache)

- There is lots of Javascript. I have used the Jquery ([url removed, login to view]) library for the basis for the system so far. I also have lots of custom objects, formatting, and other specialized Javascript code that should be easy to work with for any seasoned Javascript programmer.

- A good knowledge of PHP is required. The first stage of this project, which I have completed, was to build the initial components of the online web editor. Then, I contracted out some php work to organize my code, turn it into OOP with PHP classes and a more sophisticated design. PART OF THIS PROJECT IS TO INTEGRATE ALL OF THESE CLASSES INTO MY CODE.

- UI Design. Although I have already built a good majority of the UI for the site, there is still some that is required. I have a newsletter feature so people can create scheduled emails, but that needs to be coupled with a UI because as of not, it has none and just the backend is coded. I also would like to improve some of the smaller UI throughout the site, so a decent background in UI / Web design would be helpful.

WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR IN THIS PROJECT:

Here are the various big parts of the project along with what has been finished for each part:

- Creating new pages, editing old pages, and saving files

About 80% done. The changes in this part lie in cleaning up the code, fixing small bugs and expanding the making the advanced text editor a little more functions (Knowledge of the TinyMCE editor is very helpful).

- Newsletters

This section has all the back-end coding but nothing else. We need to design a simple and effective UI and integrate it into the rest of the system.

- Contact Manager / Email System

This part is about 75% done and like the editing system, needs to be cleaned up, bug free and a few features are not yet complete.

- Accounts

One of the big changes I need done to my overall design (and partly the DB design) is to manipulate how I handle different accounts. I need to create a very basic structure for different types of account users for my system and right now there is only one. This should not be too difficult to modify in my code and it will be necessary to work closely with me to accomplish some of these changes.

- Design

I would prefer that some of the design is improved, although a good majority of it right now is pretty good.

Since the project does have so many details, I do not expect the bidding to be a completely static figure. I would prefer if I made an agreement with the winning bidder to judge the price and costs as the project moves forward.

I would like to work directly with a company for this project and communication on a daily basis is very important to me. I ALSO WOULD PREFER TO PAY SOMEONE / COMPANY ON AN HOURLY BASIS. This bid for the project is more an estimate because of the size of the project. I am online quite often and communicate through EMAIL and a host of other Instant Messaging software.
