We are in need of a custom hosting cart that can take a user from domain availability check, to hosting package selection, to additional feature selection, and checkout (with various payment options) and auto account creation on a Plesk 8 server would be advantages.
There should be email notifications to both the user and the administrator with fully details still available through the web interface and back end.
This cart should have a back end where all user details are stored for account management purposes, with email newsletter and support services. Users should be able to log into their online account for package upgrades and additional applications at any time. This backend should also have the facility to add/edit/delete all features of the service packages such as domain extensions, hosting packages, services, mail groups, etc. Physical accounting will be done off-site with an accounting system.
A good example is the Godaddy website cart system and the Host Gator cart system.
We also require a fresh new look and feel to our existing website, and both the cart and website should share a similar design and look-and-feel. We will require at least 3 look-and-feel options to select from.
All scripts should be secure and of high standard with good commenting using PHP, MySQL, Javascript, Flash, etc required to provide a professional service. At this time the servers are Linux with PHP 5.x and MySQL 5.x
We will also require payment terms for the programming, and example would be 10% on acceptance of bid, 15% on submission of 3 look-and-feel examples, 50% on full testing of system, and 25% on final handover to us.
A design and secrecy agreement will be provided for acceptance and signature.
Plesk integration is not a must have requirement.
Bidders should ensure the domain whois feature works with the main domain extensions like .com .net .biz .[url removed, login to view] etc. but also with South African domain extensions like .[url removed, login to view] and .[url removed, login to view] etc.
There should be "remember me" feature for client/user login with a "Forgot Password" feature to email the user/password to a registered email address.
The automated cart should have the image code verification feature to prevent automated spider subscriptions.
The whois lookup should not only state if the domain is available or not, it should also give possible alternative available domain name and extension options, again similar to the [url removed, login to view] cart.
The cart should have a coupon system of offering discounts based on coupons.
