We need a VB6 routine that will take a DBF style file (file has a GPD extention, but is really a DBF) a...Access 2000/2002. Interface to select files, ect. is not important as that is already done, we simply need to import the file into the database. File layout will vary, and headers used in the GPD file should correspond to column/field names in Acess. Attachment includes several sample GPD files that would need imported. I have been told by a local network "expert" that what I want to do is not possible. I am hopeful there is somebody out there that can come up with a good solution. Here is our need -- I want ...best option, the desktop look and info provided will be the same across all potential users. Access to specific directories is the only thing impacted by the login given. One other note, this is for a small school setting, so the security is not a real high priority, creating a clean, simplified user experience is most important.
