Producer's Rep (for feature filmmaking)

Hello - I am a screenwriter, director and producer who is starting a film production company from the ground up with my producing partner. She is based in Switzerland and I am based in New York City. We are looking for someone who wants to grow the company with us from the ground up. More specifically, we are looking for a Producer's Rep - someone to assist with pre-sales, and be instrumental in getting our films financed.

The Producer's Rep we are looking for will be involved in all stages of the filmmaking and distribution process. In the broadest sense, we are looking for someone who will advise and consult with us in all stages of the financing, production, marketing and distribution process of our films.

The Producer's Rep will assist us in establishing direct connections between us (the filmmakers) and financiers, distributors, electronic media, journalists, press agents, critics and ultimately the audience. Producer's Reps have to be versatile and act as a backroom political strategist.

The filmmaking world is a battlefield and it is the Producer's Rep who serves as the field general to marshal the filmmaker's army of resources with campaigns, strategies and guerrilla techniques to get the film financed, produced and distributed. Your experience should include involvement in all phases of the distribution process on a number of films and a knowledge of what sells to whom and why, as well as what does and does not sell and why.
