We are looking for a web developer to work with a team of highly motivated academics and course designers to develop a world class learning environment.
The Company, Birmingham Christian College (BCC) is to create, market and deliver part-time short courses online and blended Higher education programmes to students around the world. We use cutting-edge technology, sector-leading pedagogy, and first-class student support to provide an outstanding educational experience.
The Learning Developer will be responsible for the development of online modules within our online learning environments (Moodle). An in-depth expertise in implementing online learning experiences would be preferred but experience in other software would also be considered.
The post-holder will bring a focus on delivering high quality learning experiences in a sustainable, repeatable manner through the online medium. As such, this is primarily a web development/design role for online learning. The learning objects developed will range from bespoke content creation, web pages, graphics, web video, screen casts, online assessments, and other digital documents and presentations.
The post-holder will need to have a balance of technical excellence, visual/design acumen and an understanding of effective learning design, as well as the ability to communicate clearly and affably with both academic and technical staff. He or she will maintain effective relationships with Project manager/learning designer and academic staff involved in our online learning projects, understanding the academic context and in turn helping team educators to understand how to convert face-to-face teaching and materials into effective online solutions.
