JavaScript Menus
The project is to write a PHP script that accesses the MySQL DB of a PHP website that list categories of web Sites. The script will create small JavaScript menu files that list the following:
- New Sites
- Hot Sites
- Top Rated Sites
- Editor Pick Sites
- [Category (show category name) Top Sites]
- [Top Sites of member (shows ID)'s Subscribed Categories]
- [Member Favorite Sites]
Script Requirements:
- Create a default menu file that only shows basic Sites.
- Create menu files for each category and sub-category.
- Create menu files for affiliated members.
- The maximum number of each menu groups can be set by the administrator.
- The format of the menu file will be provided.
- Allow administrator to customize colors and font of the menus.
- Insert a chat room link to each menu.
- A document clearly lists all changes.
- The target platform will be Linux.
Update menus when:
- New Sites approved
- New rating submitted
- Linux cron job that starts the script periodically
- Modify files only when necessary
There will be a few minor changes to the existing website.
