Java Applet Loader with progress bar

Hi,

We are looking for some help with a Java Applet...

We have developed an applet Jar file that is over 450kb, this applet has been developed using JDK 1.1.8 and is therefore intended to run on the Java Runtime 1.1.8 which most machines will have installed.

Our problem is that when this applet is loading we see a grey box appear whilst it is downloading the applet!

We need a small Java Applet that will load very quickly and will then load our large app & whilst doing so will display a progress bar of its download progress.

Not sure if this is the correct method, we are happy to look at other ways or methods if they work!

The applet is also making use of a Java GUI called LWVCL 4.50 which can be obtained from <[url removed, login to view]>; I mention this because it overloads the [url removed, login to view] class with a LwApplet class; which my applet is using.

The solution should do the following:

• Show an Image (GIF/JPG) as soon as the page loads.

• Show a progress bar of the Applets Jar file being downloaded.

• Then invoke the required applet.

• Be written in Java/JavaScript.

• Full source code supplied.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
