We need shapefiles with WGS84 projection, world coverage.
We need 2 sets of Shapefiles with WGS84 Projection.
- One with maximum total size of ~100 MB
- One with maximum total size of ~500-600 MB (we can be more flexible on this).
Both to include the same things as described below, but since the second one can be larger, it can of course be more detailed.
- Land Polygons (with WGS84 projection, as said before).
- Countries' boundaries/borders (including Territorial water boundaries)
- Countries' names
- Ocean/Sea names
- Rivers/Inland Waters-Big Lakes-Minor Islands.
- Reefs
- Antarctic Ice shelves
Notes
* On Suez-Panama-Kiel-Corinth Canals etc, the land polygons to be separated as good as possible.
* If we can also accommodate within the 1st set of ~100 MB, isobaths/depth contours then please take this under consideration as well. If not, try to put it on the bigger set of Shapefiles (the 2nd one with the 500MB. They don't have to be very detailed (isobaths, rough, like those from [login to view URL]: 50m-100m-200m-500m-1000m-2000m and above).
* colouring of each country differently is good to have (not available in [login to view URL]). But only if we keep the limits of 100MB & 500MB.
* Shoreline should be delivered by smoothing techniques (buffering)
Openstreetmap provides free download of shapefiles. We ned an expert to apply some kind of process as described.
