48995 Html Page Generator

Hello I am looking for a standalone PC program that will generate html pages for an online library of books. I want something straightforward and not too fancy, many for my own use. You tell me the best language to use. There are many examples of library sites on the net and we can discuss this on the pmb. The program should take in each book as a single text file. It will split it into chapters and sections, generating an html page for each section and an html table of contents page for the book. Each book will have a title and author. If the program could process several books in one run, then this would be bonus over one-by-one operation. All generated pages should be based on an html template. The generated pages should contain links to the previous and next sections of the book and the book's table of contents page. Each generated page should also include links to various other pages (eg an author page and a book category page) which will be manually maintained. The generator programme should accept the paths to these pages as input data. Each generated page should also have a title tag and meta tags, also based on input data. Please let me know whether you will be writing this program from scratch, or modifying something similar. Full ownership of the code is to be transferred at completion.
