Extract text - Count how many times each word appears

Hello,

I have about 6 .txt files.

These files contain a long list of categories which are separated by the pipe key " | "

Out of all these categories some might only appear once but some may appear several times.

I need someone to extract all of these words from all the .txt files and then display how many times each word repeats.

(This way I can easily see which are common categories and how many times they appear)

I do not want to hire someone who would try to manually do this by reading.

This should be done using some sort of Excel command, Macro or maybe even a basic c program.

I think this is about a days work for the right person.
