<Technology Description>
This technology is a technology to support an autonomous driving vehicle through remote control by a remote operator. One of the problems that can be anticipated when a remote operator remotely drives a vehicle when autonomous driving becomes difficult is that the remote operator may be placed under a heavy burden if he or she is constantly required to remotely drive the vehicle whenever autonomous driving becomes difficult. To solve this problem, this technology asks the remote operator to provide remote assistance within areas where it is possible to continue autonomous driving by receiving remote assistance and asks the remote operator to provide remote driving outside such areas. Please note that remote assistance means that at least part of the decisions for autonomous driving is made by the remote operator, and remote driving means that at least one of the steering operation and acceleration/deceleration operation of the autonomous driving vehicle is performed by the remote operator.
