  The site is a real shop , actually using another template. You have to change template to Dresscode (We have license). There is a VPS for testing and development, You Will have full control of it.If You need some other info ask it specifically.

     >The site is a real shop My ans: My normal practise in my past web cart upgrades were setup a new test site on either my side or your test site by (1) installation of the new osc, (2) installation/re-engnieering of addons at the new site, (3) installation of addons, (4) installation of theme/template, (5) cut-over the new site online if upgrade tests are accepted.   1) You will work on a clone of the original site, You will need to setup hosts file in Your PC
  2) in include/application_top.php there is define('PROJECT_VERSION', 'osCommerce Online Merchant v2.3') - PHP Version 5.2.14
  3) actually the admin page is white, You will have to fix this somehow ( but the rest is working )
  4) Do You will update also oscommerce modules ?
  5) below your other duties, can You estimate when You will arrive to the goal (ie, When You will finish the work)?

     You may find in my proposal that (1) I have contributed at least 20 addons from 2.2x to 2.3.4 (2) a list of upgrade test site at my online server, (3) a list of completed osc upgrades and 2 of them were upgrade to osc2.3.4. Please feel free to contact for more details.

My Ans: In my past upgrade experience, the delivery time depends on: (1) how fancy the theme required, (2) for osc2.3.4 upgrade, it needed some minor upgrade of those addons for osc2.3.x, OR have to re-engineer from osc2.2.x addons, (3) migration of old osc2.2.x database schema. IT NEEDS MORE INPUT FROM your psd files and full list of your favour addons of features, such as shipping modules, product attributes, and so on. Normally, my last upgrades spent about 5 days for theme/template, about half days for each addon upgrade from osc2.3.x to osc2.3.4, and days for osc2.2.x re-engineering which depends the design architecture of the addons themselves.

     osc versions 2.3 , 2.3.1 , 2.3.2 can backward compatible from some php 5.4 versions and previous releases . Versions 2.3.3 ,to 2.3.4 are compatible all versions 5.5 and previous release. I never try 5.6 with the lastest releases of Linux since not much hosting service providers (HSP) and production osc have implement such combinations. You have better check with your HSP about the future roadmap of PHP version support because it could have serious impact to the lifetime of your current request of upgrade.
