Hi creative people,
I am about to open a wine shop and will need pretty much all kinds of graphic design: from a logo to a sign for the shop, signs for the shelves, adhesives, business cards, brochures, catalogue, order lists etc. plus, at a later step, also a web site with online shop function.
As a newby here and as the most urgent thing to start with, I ask for the design of the COMPANY LOGO. The aim is to work together with the same graphic designer for all other continuous needs concerning graphic design.
The shop will be located in a central position in Linz, a medium sized city of Austria. It will carry wines of pretty much all price ranges of European wine producing countries. The main focus will be on Italian wines. The name of the shop:
TUTTO VINO - Der Weinladen
The logo must contain the entire writing and must fit on a narrow but long space above the shop windows: about L=800cm x H=50cm. So both parts of the writing TUTTO VINO - Der Weinladen must be fitted in one line. Pls find a pic from the facade attached. The letters should not be too small in order to be seen from a far. For other purposes like business cards, catalogues etc. the logo might be split vertically (Tutto Vino above and Der Weinladen underneath) in order to fit in for example a circle, square or rectangle. Its also up to you if you suggest the writing plus a logo or just prefer to play with the design of the writing. The dash between TUTTO VINO - Der Weinladen might be left away or substituted with a different symbol, its up to you. Please consider that there should be an a font available matching the logo for all future texts (signs, web site, brochures etc.)
The shop will cater to people of all ages who like wine of course. It addresses an urban cliental with a hedonistic life-style. The shop will be modern with a relaxed and easy-going atmosphere, decorated in a hip way: modern with some vintage accents. The focus on Italian wines is transmitted through the name, so the logo should be coherent!
The logo/writing in short should resemble: wine, Italy, hip, vintage. I personally do not like serifs on writings. Please also avoid arabesques and kitsch patterns such as wine grapes. I think a kind of fat/chubby font (mixture of modern/futuristic but at the same time retro 60s/70s) could go. I could imagine something similar to the logo of the new Fiat Panda. Colorwise all earthy colors from mud, brown, rusty, petrol, shist, clay, slate to bordeaux, amber, sand, gravel, emerald, copper are an option. The shop interior will be rather light with a light wooden floor, beech shelves, white walls and some surfaces made of concrete. So do not be shy to use intense coloring in order to create contrast.
Curious about your proposals and at your complete disposal for questions or doubts.
