Hello there, I am a professional aerialist and dancer, and I own a small business that makes dance studio floors. As a single, self-employed entrepreneur I am looking to achieve the dream of a permanent home for myself and my operations.
My dream home is a container home* that houses a dance studio, master bedroom, guest area, and work space; and is mindful of an indoor-outdoor area for my pets. (*Not a 'tiny home'. I would like to use 3 to 4 containers of 40' or 53' length to create 1200-1400SF of living space, and I am interested in an angled ceiling with max height of 16' with beam for aerial rigging in the dance studio at about 12'.)
My goal with this contest is to hire an architect with experience with FLORIDA BUILDING CODE and RESIDENTIAL DESIGN who can create CAD drawings based on my ideas. (The contest prize is separate from the project budget.) I'd like to find a like-minded professional who understands my needs and charges a reasonable fee for their services.
Entries, please include:
- proof of experience with FLORIDA BUILDING CODE
- proof of residential design experience
- hourly rate or other proposal of fees for continuation of this project
Since the Central Florida county in which I am building does not have any current examples of container homes that have been built yet, this will essentially be the first project of its kind. I have sketches that my general contractor and I have created together, and I have met with the county planning department regarding my plans. The project now needs an Architect (and Engineer Of Record) to work with our designs and create a plan that meets my needs and meets Florida Building Code. The plans will be submitted to the Osceola County Planning & Design Department for approval. I am looking to start on this project in the next 4-6 weeks.
