Character turnaround for a sci-fi YA novel

Kindly check out my entry. It's a bit rough; if only I have seen this contest days before. Anyway, the design could be further improved and I could add the other angles later if I am chosen. - I started with something Turian but added another set of eyes to differentiate it and made the ridges on his head more tentacle-like. - Per you description, the exo-skeleton in his left jaw is cracked - I made his armor chitin-like and segmented like what you might see in an insect's exo-skeleton but made of slate per your description so it is appears rocky. - The orange decal I put in his armor and left eye is to break the overall gray of the armor. Like I mentioned, I could add further details and enhance the design as needed. Thanks!
