Letters - Little May
This is a track I engineered for a Sydney band called Little May. These guys have a very laid back and folksy feel - very comforting and moving. We decided the best way to capture this intimacy would be to simply record them in the space they were most comfortable - their rehearsal space in a gorgeous, high ceilinged room belonging to one of the band members. The performance on this track benefitted greatly from the relaxed atmosphere we were able to create with the band. This track was engineered, mixed, produced and mastered by me for Audio Nomad.
About Me
I'm an Australian Instrumentalist, Vocalist, Composer and Sound Engineer. I'm involved with a number of Sydney-based projects, most notably my band, Lovers Jump Creek, with whom I've visited every major city in Australia, as well as a number of regional centres. LJC have enjoyed extensive radio play throughout the country and internationally through many independent radio stations. I also run a portable recording studio that services the Sydney area under the name Audio Nomad. Our most recent work includes fledgling buzz artists Little May, as well as Melbourne act We The People. We The People's lead single from our sessions has enjoyed national radio play and was selected as the soundtrack to Marie Clare Magazine's 2013 March Cover Shoot. My skills include the best of the old (that is, capturing and working with "real" audio), combined with the best of the new (incorporating digital and virtual sounds). I balance these two worlds in order to craft cohesive, professional works with true fidelity and art.
