I'm a web designer and developer working from Edinburgh. I began freelancing in 2008, working my way up from small static websites to bespoke PHP/MySQL systems by 2013. I've had to cut back my hours since then because I'm now working towards a Web Design & Development degree at Napier University, but will be available as usual over the summer months and to a lesser extent between September and May. Club Physio provides a unique service to sports club members by facilitating easy access to professional physiotherapists through registered sports clubs. The website allows club members to book appointments online using a dynamic appointment schedule generated with PHP, AJAX & MySQL and animated with javascript and Mootools. Payments were handled initially using RBS Worldpay, but we've recently updated the payment area to integrate with a Nochex payment gateway, fully customised to match the design of the Club Physio site of course. The appointment schedule is updated automatically when bookings are made, and staff members have a log in area where they can view their own appointment details and work history. The appointment system can be managed from the admin area, as well as staff scheduling and availability, discounts, payments for subsidised dates, and the appointment history.

For this website the client supplied all the content and asked for a design with a colourful butterfly theme. In addition to designing her logo and making her an XHTML / CSS template based on this idea, we've also included a 'send to a friend' pop-up page, Google maps and a Facebook share button. We were later asked to create some graphic elements to depict situations and concepts related to counselling and phsycotherapy, and transactional analysis in particular. These come together as a collection of images for the Chrysallis Counselling and Psychotherapy website.

First Psychotherapy is a small organisation based in Edinburgh and Glasgow. We originally designed the logo graphic for another project for the same client - the SCCP - and adapted it for First Psychotherapy, but kept the letters intact to imply a link between the two organisations. Because the client wanted the whole website to be updateable from admin we've set it up as a bespoke Wordpress theme, making use of Wordpress's custom menus and text widgets to give the site a more static feel, so that the blog itself is more of an afterthought to the main pages.

First Psychotherapy - Edinburgh & Glasgow

This is a very small site created for a private hire driver in Edinburgh. We took the photograph of his car and made the necessary alterations to integrate it into his design, as well as removing the registration and private hire numbers. The Edinburgh skyline and the buttons were created in Inkscape. We wrote the copy for this site with search engine optimisation in mind, and used a combination of PHP and javascript to create a user-friendly booking form which posts directly to his email address. Later we added a custom built scrolling links script for the resources page of this website, using a combination of Mootools and DHTML.

Spanish Holiday Rentals is a database driven website offering a wide choice of holiday rentals in Spain, with free membership for property owners and a six month trial subscription period for new advertisements. As well as a standard PHP / MySQL search box, a keyword search is also available to allow easy navigation of more than 3000 properties. Paypal instant payment notifications have been used to fully automate purchases made on the site, and are used in conjunction with an online calculator to provide instant insurance quotes and cover. Javascript and Mootools have also been used throughout the site to improve usability and add animation to a number of pages, including fade effects, tabbed content, image galleries and dynamic text.

Exceptional work and communication was incredible. Constant feedback on progress and highlighted potential pit falls. Was highly motivated to deliver a quality system and most defiantly takes pride in her work. At no time tried to increase cost and has offer support even after project completed.
