I am a writer with experience in several different areas and I love nothing more than stretching my skills. I wrote for my college newspaper--The Northern Student. I worked with The Northern Student as it transitioned from a weekly print newspaper into a monthly magazine and a weekly online news site. I wrote for The Northern Student for three years, during which time I also worked as a writing tutor in the Writing Resource Center on my college campus. There I would help fellow students through the entire writing process. Session focus would range from initial brainstorming to appropriate citation and format to editing and proofreading. My poetry is published in several Creative Communications anthologies ranging from the years 2003-2009. I also have a short story, entitled "The Music Box" that was included in the New Voices Anthology 2009. I have written a 50,500 word novel, so I have no trouble writing long or short works. As I said, I have a wide range of writing experience that naturally includes academic writing and blog writing as well as the other styles I mentioned. I type at approximately 60-70 wpm. While I mostly write realistic fiction, I also have no qualms about working in other genres and in fact have experimented in several. I read and enjoy every genre from historical fiction to sci-fi to fantasy to romance to nonfiction memoir. Most of all, when I write, I love a challenge. If you have a writing project of any sort and you want a professional individual with the skills and mindset to conquer any challenge, work with me. My single goal will be your delight with the product.

As a tutor, I assisted other students in the writing process from start to finish. Along with native English-speakers, I also worked with several ESL students to teach them the written grammar of English and polish their papers. Most students came in for the final editing and proofreading, but others came in not knowing where to start. I learned that the key to working towards a successful project is asking questions. Providing answers drives the work towards a single purpose, that all important thesis or t

I wrote for The Northern Student throughout my college career. When I first started there, it was a weekly newspaper, but over the years, it transitioned into a monthly magazine accompanied by a constantly-updated news website. I wrote pieces that ranged from play and art exhibit reviews to how-tos to journalistic pieces. I loved reviewing theatrical productions and some of my other favorite work with The Northern Student included a piece about the smoking ban on campus and the accusations of gerrymandering
